Screen1 login

No-Nonsense Security

Nobody gets in but you! We use robust, peer-reviewed and open-source AES-256 encryption along with the PBKDF2 algorithm to protect your notes. None of your data is ever stored un-encrypted. The login screen provides an option to turn off password masking, and a numeric keypad.

Screen3 edit

Auto-Save Editing

The first line becomes your document’s title. Tap out meeting notes, ideas, diary entries, suh-weet song lyrics, or copy-and-paste external documents. Codebook saves any changes to the note you are editing every few seconds to prevent data loss when you get a phone call.

The Add and Delete buttons on the edit note screen are new, making it easier for you to copy down data quickly, and to delete something while you’re looking at it.

Screen5 sync

Sync with Dropbox™

Our Sync feature allows you to securely backup your encrypted database to the popular Dropbox cloud storage service. Our replication technology, Ditto, allows you to use this feature to share your database with as many devices as you have running Codebook!

Codebook is free to try, but this feature requires a one-time in-app upgrade for $2.99 USD.

Screen2 list

Your Notebook

Following the example of the Notes application, Codebook maintains one listing of your notes and sorts them by date—you get to choose if it’s the creation date, or the last-modified date in the Settings app. Each entry is displayed with the first line as the title, a preview of additional text, and either the creation or modified date.

Screen5 search

Search Your Notes

Once you’ve got a lot of notes, you’re going to want to search back in time! The Search bar at the top of your notes list will search every note you’ve created for the string you enter.

Editing landscape

Device Rotation

Typing for a while can be tough in portrait orientation. Codebook now fully supports landscape orientation for editing notes, just turn your iPhone or iPad on its side and the view will rotate and expand accordingly.
